In this interactive talk, Cathy will walk through simple, real-life examples of how charts connect. You’ll learn what to look for when it comes to attraction, misunderstandings, support, and growth. The focus isn’t predicting compatibility — it’s understanding dynamics so you can respond more consciously instead of reacting automatically.

Bring your birth information (date, time, location) and the birth date of a partner, friend, or family member if you’d like the chance to see a live example.

Using Tarot to Deepen Your Astrology Practice

If you read astrology — or are learning to — tarot can be a powerful tool to add depth, clarity, and connection to your sessions. In this talk, Cathy will share practical ways she weaves tarot into her astrology readings.

You’ll learn how using a simple 3‑card spread at the beginning of a session can shift the energy from analytical to symbolic and help build immediate rapport with a client. Cathy will also explore how the 36 minor arcana cards correspond to the 36 decans of the zodiac — a system she explores in depth in her YouTube series on the 36 Decans. Understanding these correspondences can help you differentiate complex placements, especially when someone has multiple planets in one sign.

We’ll also look at how working with the tarot cards connected to the Sun, Moon, and Rising sign can help you access the heart of a chart more quickly and create a stronger, more intuitive connection in your readings.

Bring your curiosity — and if you’d like, your birth information — as we explore how tarot and astrology can work together in a practical, grounded way.

Cathy has submitted a proposal to teach on Relationship Astrology at this year’s conference and hopes to attend as a vendor as well where she would offer live astrology readings to conference attendees ($35/$60/$80 for 10/20/30-minute readings)

The Decans in Astrology: Deepening the Zodiac

In this presentation for OPA’s Mercury Hour, Cathy will explore the 36 decans of the zodiac — the three subdivisions within each sign that add nuance, texture, and specificity to chart interpretation.

While most astrologers are familiar with the twelve signs, the decans reveal why not all placements in the same sign express themselves in the same way. Cathy will discuss the historical roots of the decans, their planetary rulerships, and how they can be used in modern chart work to differentiate complex placements — especially when multiple planets fall within a single sign.

She will also touch on the rich symbolic correspondences between the decans and the tarot’s Minor Arcana, and how these images can support deeper client connection and more precise delineation.

This talk draws from Cathy’s ongoing YouTube series on the 36 Decans of the Zodiac, where she explores each decan in depth.
