Pisces Lunar Eclipse: Faith, Insight, and the Flow of Life

As I sat down to write this blogpost about the upcoming lunar eclipse in Pisces which is happening August 27 around midnight, I was reminded of this quote. I first saw it written on a blackboard at an incredible Airbnb just north of the Cities. It was right on a river, and staying there, you felt as though you were part of its flow.
Pisces has a lot to do with surrender, faith, intuition, and the flow of life — and this eclipse may be asking us to let something unfold rather than trying to manage every part of it. Something may be coming into focus that has been building for a while, but it may arrive in a way that asks for trust more than control.
Wherever Pisces falls in your chart, this eclipse may be asking you to soften a little bit — to let go of using your brain to figure everything out, and to trust that there may be a larger pattern unfolding.
There is a lot of “new information” energy in this eclipse chart. Uranus is involved, which can bring sudden events, insights, or changes. And Mercury is cazimi the Sun, which can sometimes feel like a light bulb moment: something clicks, or we receive a piece of information that helps us understand what has been happening.
Because this is the final Pisces eclipse in this series, it may feel like a culmination of themes that began around September 2024 and continued through September 2025. You might want to look back at those times and notice what was shifting, especially in the Pisces area of your chart.
This eclipse may feel especially strong if you are a mutable sign rising — Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces — or if you have planets or points near 4 degrees of a mutable sign.

What Eclipses Are
Before we bring up the eclipse chart, let’s ground ourselves again in what eclipses are.
Eclipses happen at the new moon or the full moon. Some people say that eclipses are like new or full moons on steroids — extra powerful. And it is true that eclipse energy can bring sudden shifts into our lives.
I like to think of eclipses as karmic corrections.
Symbolically, eclipses involve primary motion. This is a philosophical idea from Aristotle, where the primary motion of the sky is connected to the motion of God. Eclipses, as well as retrogrades, involve this primary motion.
So there’s something about moments of eclipses, and also retrograde periods, where we get an opportunity. Something may happen in our life that shakes us up, or asks us to revisit old themes and reconnect with our path. You could say the Tao, in Taoism — the flow of life.
This eclipse is a full moon eclipse, because lunar eclipses always happen at the full moon. We just had a solar eclipse at the new moon a couple of weeks ago.
Solar eclipses can have to do with solar figures in our lives appearing or disappearing. These might be leaders, authority figures, fathers, mentors, kings, presidents, bosses, or anyone who holds a visible role in our personal or collective world.
In fact, this is part of how astrology began in the ancient world. The Sun and the Moon were not just background features of the sky. They were essential. They lit the way, marked time, guided the seasons, and helped people orient themselves within the larger rhythms of life. Their movements mattered in a very practical way, much more than they do for many of us today, because ancient people were living in much closer relationship with the sky.
So when the Sun or the Moon appeared to disappear, even briefly, it was experienced as a profound disruption in the natural order. It made sense that people would read that as an omen. Over time, astrologers and sky-watchers began to notice patterns and correlations, especially between solar eclipses and moments when powerful figures rose, fell, vanished, or were otherwise transformed.
That’s one reason solar eclipses have long been associated with shifts around leadership, visibility, authority, and the people who stand at the center of public life.
And if we think about it, just yesterday Dolly Parton — love Dolly Parton — passed. The eclipse hit her Moon in the early degrees of Virgo, her first house. And she was a queen, right? A real solar figure for all of us.
So that gives you a sense of the importance of eclipses, and why astrologers pay so much attention to these moments. They can bring real shifts in our lives.
For all of us, whatever house Pisces occupies in the birth chart is the area of life that has been receiving the eclipse energy. You may find that, over the last couple of years, you’ve been asked to realign your energy around those topics — to see them differently, release old patterns, or step into a deeper sense of trust and faith there.
The first eclipse in Pisces happened back in September of 2024. Then we had another one in September of 2025. And now this is the final eclipse in this particular Pisces series. So this moment may feel like a culmination, or like the period at the end of a sentence.
It can be helpful to look back at what was happening in your life around those earlier eclipses, especially in September 2024 and September 2025. What themes were coming up? What changed? What appeared or disappeared? What were you being asked to surrender, understand, or trust?
Those reflections may give you a clue about how this eclipse is working in your chart now, especially in the house where Pisces falls.

Pisces, Faith, and the First Decan
This particular eclipse happens in Pisces. Pisces is a water sign. It’s the last of the water signs, and it has a lot to do with faith.

A decan is 10 degrees of the zodiac. Every sign has 30 degrees, so every sign has three decans. You can separate the sign into three parts.
This particular part of Pisces — the first 10 degrees of Pisces, the first decan — has to do with the spiritual seeker.
A pretty famous example, at least famous in my world, is Ram Dass, who has his Venus there. Venus is exalted in Pisces. Adyashanti, another spiritual teacher I work with and someone who is pretty well known in spiritual circles, has his Jupiter there. Jupiter rules Pisces, and he has Jupiter in this part of the zodiac.
So this eclipse may be bringing up things around our connection with the divine, around our connection with Source. I know it has for me. It may be asking us to step into faith in this part of our life.
For example, if Pisces is your fifth house of children and creativity, this eclipse series may be asking you to let go in the Virgo area of your chart, where the South Node is. Let go of judgment. Let go of analysis. Let go of thinking you’re in control and that you can figure everything out with your mind. That’s Virgo energy.
And then move into faith. Things will work out. There’s a pattern, a divine energy, that guides us. So this may be asking us to deepen that faith and connect with the divine in that area of the chart.
This eclipse feels like the period at the end of a sentence — the closing point of a theme you’ve been working through for the last couple of years. It may bring a sense of culmination around whatever questions of faith have been active for you, and whatever lessons have been emerging around surrender, trust, and letting go.
Because Pisces is involved, this may have asked you to release some of the Virgo-style impulse to judge, analyze, perfect, manage, or control everything with the mind. Instead, the invitation has been to move toward something more fluid: trusting that the universe is larger than you, that life has its own intelligence, and that not everything can be figured out ahead of time.
So this eclipse may ask you, in a very real way, to move into the flow of life.
Pisces is symbolized by the two fishes tied together, swimming through the waters. And there’s something in that image that speaks to the heart of Pisces: learning to be carried by the current, rather than constantly fighting against it. This doesn’t mean becoming passive or giving up your agency. It means listening more deeply, softening where you’ve been gripping too tightly, and allowing yourself to be guided by the larger movement of life.
The Eclipse Chart: Uranus, Mercury Cazimi, and New Information
Now let’s bring up the chart so we can deepen our understanding of what this eclipse might bring, because there are some really interesting aspects. And by aspects, I just mean connections between the planets in this eclipse chart.
We already talked about the fact that this eclipse is happening at the full moon. We can see that clearly in the chart because the Sun is opposite the Moon. A lunar eclipse is always a full moon eclipse, but what makes it an eclipse is the involvement of the lunar nodes. Eclipses happen when the Sun and Moon are close enough to the nodes of the Moon, and in this chart, the North Node is only about five degrees away from the Moon in Pisces. So this is not just an ordinary full moon — it’s a full moon aligned with the nodal axis, which gives it that eclipse quality.
The first thing I noticed when looking at this chart is that Uranus is forming a T-square to the eclipse energy. Uranus is squaring the Moon in Pisces, and it is also squaring the Sun and Mercury down in Virgo. So Uranus is putting pressure on both sides of the full moon opposition.
A T-square is intense, dynamic energy. It can feel like there is a conflict or tension that needs to be worked through, but it can also be incredibly creative. It asks us to adapt, to stay awake, and to hold the tension of opposites long enough for something new to emerge. We may not be able to immediately resolve the situation by choosing one side or the other. Instead, the work is often to stay present with the discomfort until a new understanding, a new perspective, or a new meaning begins to take shape.
And I say “new meaning” because one of the ways we can work with a T-square is by looking to the sign opposite the apex planet. In this chart, Uranus is the apex of the T-square, sitting in Gemini. The sign opposite Gemini is Sagittarius. Sagittarius is connected with meaning-making, belief, wisdom, philosophy, and the larger story we tell ourselves about what is happening.
So with Uranus at the apex, there may be sudden information, disruption, or awakening energy coming in. But the way through may involve Sagittarius: stepping back, widening the lens, and asking, “What does this mean? What larger truth is trying to emerge here?”
So to me, there’s something about this eclipse where our faith may be tested. We may be trying to grapple with this conflict, this opposition, between our judgment and our desire to perfect things in the material world — Virgo down here at the bottom — and our desire to trust and have faith.
Where can we find the middle ground, or the middle path, between those two energies?
Uranus — and I have Uranus at the top of my chart, exactly conjunct the Midheaven — can be about sudden events and changes. Uranus was discovered during the French and American Revolutions. It’s connected to liberation, the desire to break free, the desire to shake up our old thought structures and let something new in.
And here we have Uranus in the sign of Gemini, a sign that is all about information — gathering information and putting information out into the world. Technology, too.
Uranus squaring this eclipse suggests that we could have a shakeup. Some new energy, that Gemini energy, some new information, could come into our life around the time of this eclipse, adding to its power.
On top of that, we have Mercury cazimi the Sun at the moment of the eclipse. Mercury is within a degree of the Sun, and cazimi means that a planet is in the heart of the Sun. So Mercury is not just close to the Sun here — it is being emphasized, illuminated, and strengthened by that solar contact.
This is a superior conjunction, which means Mercury is on the far side of the Sun from the Earth. Symbolically, this can speak to information or insight coming in from the outside world. It may not be the quieter, more internal kind of realization. It may arrive through a conversation, a message, a piece of news, something you read, something someone says, or an event that reveals something clearly.
So there’s a real repetition in the chart around the theme of new information. We have Uranus in Gemini, which can bring disruption, awakening, and unexpected data. And then we have Mercury cazimi the Sun, which can feel like an “aha” moment — a light bulb turning on. Suddenly something clicks. Suddenly you understand something you couldn’t quite see before.
So around this eclipse, there may be news, insight, or a realization that helps you make sense of what has been unfolding in the Pisces area of your chart.
So we see this exclamation point on the Pisces topics, or the Pisces area of our chart. We’re being invited, I would say, to review, to take in whatever information comes with this eclipse, and to readjust or realign ourselves.
It may be asking us to connect with our purpose, or with what fits with our soul, rather than what fits with our ego. And our fears can certainly be part of that ego energy.
Mercury cazimi can bring sudden insights. I had Mercury cazimi the Sun when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, and I always use that as an example because things like that kind of blow your mind around astrology.
So do understand that you could be receiving new information at this time.
And because Pisces is a water sign — and an especially sensitive one — there may also be some emotional overwhelm around this eclipse. Pisces tends to absorb. It feels the atmosphere. It picks up on what is subtle, unspoken, or happening beneath the surface. So when the Moon is in Pisces, emotions can already feel more porous or heightened.
Then, when Uranus comes in and squares the Moon, it can feel a little bit like a lightning bolt moving through the emotional body. Uranus can be sudden, electric, disruptive, and awakening. And the Moon can represent not only our feelings, but also the body itself. So you may notice nervous energy, restlessness, sensitivity, or a feeling that something is moving through you very quickly.
This is one of the reasons grounding practices can be so helpful around eclipse energy.
I’m a big fan of meditation. At the same time, I try not to push it on people, because it took me years to settle into a meditation practice, and even to feel comfortable meditating. So I really understand that it isn’t always easy to just sit down, close your eyes, and suddenly feel peaceful.
Don’t beat yourself up if meditation is difficult for you, or if it doesn’t feel accessible right now. There are many ways to ground: walking, breathing, being in nature, stretching, cooking, praying, journaling, or simply giving yourself a little bit of quiet space. The point is not to do it perfectly. The point is to give your system somewhere safe to land.
But developing a meditation practice — or really doing anything that helps you ground yourself in the earth and come back into your body — can help you take in this energy more consciously. It gives the energy somewhere to go. It can allow the eclipse to illuminate something, or light you up internally, without immediately needing to act it out in the external world.
That feels especially important with Uranus involved. Uranus can bring sudden events, awakenings, disruptions, or the feeling that we need to do something right now. And with the Moon being impacted by that square, the reaction may be emotional or instinctive. If we’re not grounded, there could be a tendency to want to get out of the situation quickly, escape the discomfort, or make a sudden move before we’ve really had time to understand what’s happening.
So I think we’re being asked to balance the energy of this eclipse. If something does arise in the Pisces house of your chart — if there’s news, an event, a realization, or some emotional stirring — it doesn’t mean you can’t act. But ideally, the action comes after a little bit of self-reflection.
If we can, it’s better to sit with the energy for a moment. Breathe with it. Let the nervous system settle. Ask what is really being revealed. And then allow ourselves to be led by our inner guidance, rather than by fear, urgency, or reactivity.
That, to me, is the Pisces invitation here: to trust the deeper current, to listen inwardly, and to let faith guide the next step.
This feels like a big eclipse, particularly if you are a mutable sign rising. The mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.
If you are a mutable sign rising, the eclipse is going to hit that first house energy of who you are, either by square or opposition. So it may have a bigger impact for you.
On top of that, the eclipse is happening around the 4th degree of Pisces. So if you have planets or points around 4 degrees of a mutable sign, those will also be impacted. You could feel a bigger oomph from this eclipse.
The Eight of Cups and the Spiritual Seeker
I wanted to add this one slide to flesh out a little bit more of the meaning of that Pisces energy.
This is the tarot card up at the top, the Eight of Cups, which is associated with this part of Pisces. And as I said, this is the decan of the spiritual seeker. Adyashanti and Ram Dass have benefic planets there in really strong positions, so there’s something about internal spiritual seeking that can be part of this energy.
In the tarot card, you see the Eight of Cups. A man has turned away from what nourishes him in the outer world and gone inward. He’s going up to the mountain. In fact, this card has an eclipse right on it, which is very interesting.

You can see the way eclipses can sometimes bring in that energy of turning inward, or reconnecting with the divine.
I just wanted to point that out for you.

The Eclipse Through the Rising Signs
One of the best ways to understand how this eclipse may show up for you is to look at your rising sign. Your rising sign tells us where Pisces falls in your birth chart, and that house shows the area of life being activated.

Pisces Rising
If you are a Pisces rising, this eclipse falls in your first house.
The first house has to do with your body, appearance, vitality, temperament, and life direction. It has to do with how you move through the world and how other people experience you.
With the eclipse here, something about who you are may be shifting. You may feel new energy coming into your body or your identity, or you may be realizing that an old version of yourself no longer fits. Because Uranus is involved, this could come through suddenly — a piece of information, a conversation, an awakening, or a feeling that you can no longer move forward in the same way.
This eclipse may ask you to realign with your deeper purpose. Who are you becoming? What part of you is asking to be trusted? Pisces energy is not about forcing a new identity into place. It is more about allowing yourself to be guided into the next version of your life.
Because this is the final eclipse in this Pisces series, you may also want to look back to September 2024 and September 2025. What has been changing in your sense of self since then? This eclipse may bring that process to a turning point.
Aquarius Rising
If you are an Aquarius rising, this eclipse falls in your second house.
The second house has to do with your livelihood, money, resources, possessions, and your sense of your own value. It describes how you support yourself, what you rely on, and what helps you feel secure.
This eclipse may bring new information around income, work, financial priorities, or the way you bring resources to yourself. Something may appear or disappear here, or you may suddenly understand what needs to change in your relationship with money and self-worth.
The deeper question may be about trust. Can you trust your ability to be supported? Can you trust that your value is not only measured by what you produce, manage, or perfect? The Virgo side of the eclipse may want to analyze every detail or worry over every practical concern. Pisces asks you to listen for the larger flow.
This does not mean ignoring the material world. The second house is very practical. But this eclipse may ask you to align your livelihood with something more soulful. What kind of support actually nourishes you? What resources help you live in a way that feels connected to your purpose?
Capricorn Rising
If you are a Capricorn rising, this eclipse falls in your third house.
The third house has to do with siblings, relatives, neighbors, messages, communication, writing, learning, and short journeys. It can also have to do with devotion and the more personal, everyday forms of spirituality. This is the house where the Moon has her joy, and it was sometimes called the house of the goddess.
So there is something sacred about this part of the chart, but it is not necessarily the large, formal spirituality of the ninth house. The third house is more local and intimate. It is the conversation that changes something. The message that arrives at the right time. The walk around your neighborhood. The prayer you say in the car. The daily practice that keeps you connected.
With the eclipse here, new information may come through a conversation, a sibling or relative, a neighbor, a piece of writing, or something in your local environment. Mercury cazimi and Uranus both emphasize messages and sudden insight, so this could be especially important for you.
You may also be asked to deepen your trust in your own intuitive knowing. Not every message comes through logic. Some arrive through dreams, synchronicities, or the subtle feeling that something is asking for your attention.
Sagittarius Rising
If you are a Sagittarius rising, this eclipse falls in your fourth house, at the base of your chart.
The fourth house has to do with home, family, ancestry, roots, and that which supports you from underneath. It is one of the most private parts of the chart. It speaks to where you come from, what you inherit, and what gives you a sense of belonging.
With this eclipse here, something may appear or disappear around your home life, family relationships, living situation, or ancestral story. Because this is the final eclipse in the Pisces series, it may also mark the culmination of something that has been unfolding around home and family over the last couple of years.
You may be asked to realign with your purpose around these topics. What does home mean to you now? What kind of foundation actually supports the person you are becoming? What family or ancestral pattern are you ready to see differently, soften around, or release?
With Uranus involved, there may be a sudden realization or piece of information that changes your understanding of your roots. But Pisces asks you not to respond only from fear or urgency. The invitation is to listen inwardly, ground yourself, and allow a deeper kind of faith to guide how you respond.
Scorpio Rising
If you are a Scorpio rising, this eclipse falls in your fifth house.
The fifth house has to do with children, creativity, pleasure, beauty, dating, romance, and the things that bring joy into your life. Venus has her joy in the fifth house, so this is a place connected to love, delight, art, and the heart.
With this eclipse here, something may shift around children, fertility, dating, creative work, or your relationship to pleasure. Something new may appear in this part of life, or something may fall away if it no longer brings genuine life-force or joy.
If dating or bringing new people into your life has been a theme over the last couple of years, this eclipse may bring a sense of culmination or clarity. If creativity has been the theme, you may receive new inspiration or understand what wants to come through you now.
The Virgo side of the eclipse may want to manage this area of life — to perfect the art, analyze the relationship, control the timing, or decide exactly how joy should arrive. But Pisces asks for something different. It asks you to trust the flow of inspiration, love, and life itself.
This may be a moment to soften your grip and let yourself be led by the heart.
Libra Rising
If you are a Libra rising, this eclipse falls in your sixth house.
The sixth house has to do with labor, service, daily work, routines, and the places where we may feel we lack power. I sometimes think of it as the “Dilbert house” — the place where we are slogging away, punching the clock, and doing what has to be done.
It can also have to do with health, because when we are dealing with health issues, we can feel very directly that we are not fully in control.
With this eclipse here, something may shift around your work life, your schedule, your obligations, your health, or the way you care for your body. Uranus may bring a shakeup or new information. Mercury cazimi may bring insight or clarity. You may suddenly understand what needs to change in your daily life.
The Pisces invitation here is to develop faith around the places where you do not have total control. That does not mean giving up or becoming passive. It means noticing where you may be fighting reality, overworking, or trying to manage something that is asking for a more intuitive response.
If health has been a theme, this eclipse may ask you to trust your body’s wisdom and your own inner guidance. There is something here about neither clinging to nor pushing away what arises — but meeting your daily life with more presence, compassion, and trust.
Virgo Rising
If you are a Virgo rising, this eclipse falls in your seventh house.
The seventh house has to do with one-on-one relationships. This can include marriage, committed partnership, close friendship, therapy relationships, client relationships, consulting relationships, and anyone you meet across the table in a significant way.
With the eclipse here, something may appear or disappear in the realm of partnership. A relationship may begin, end, deepen, or reveal something important. Because Uranus is involved, there may be a sudden insight, unexpected conversation, or new information that changes how you understand a relationship.
This eclipse is especially personal for Virgo rising because it is happening in your opposite sign, Pisces. Virgo often wants to analyze, improve, manage, and make things workable. Pisces asks for trust, compassion, and surrender.
This does not mean abandoning discernment or ignoring reality. It means noticing where the desire to control a relationship may be getting in the way of intimacy. Relationships are living things. They cannot always be perfected. Sometimes they have to be listened to.
This eclipse may ask you to let go a little bit and allow another person — or the relationship itself — to show you what is true.
Leo Rising
If you are a Leo rising, this eclipse falls in your eighth house.
The eighth house is a complex house. I often think of it as the house of intimacy — all the places where we have to let go of control, collaborate, share, merge, and work with other people’s energy or resources.
It can have to do with death, because death is the ultimate letting go. But it can also have to do with ego death — the moments when an old understanding of ourselves dissolves and we have to become someone new.
The eighth house also has to do with shared resources, debts, taxes, inheritances, and money that comes through another person, including a partner’s income or support.
With this North Node eclipse here, something new could come in. Eclipses are not only about loss. Sometimes they bring an arrival, a turning point, or something unexpected. There could be news around shared finances, intimacy, inheritance, debt, or emotional entanglements.
Because Uranus and Mercury are both involved, the theme of new information is strong. You may learn something that changes how you understand a financial or emotional bond.
Pisces asks for surrender here, but not in a careless way. It asks for spiritual courage — the courage to soften your grip around areas of life that are inherently vulnerable. The eighth house teaches us that we are not separate from other people, and that transformation often requires trust.
Cancer Rising
If you are a Cancer rising, this eclipse falls in your ninth house.
The ninth house has to do with higher education, religion, philosophy, astrology, teaching, publishing, long-distance travel, and the expansion of consciousness. It is the house where the Sun has its joy, opposite the third house where the Moon has her joy.
With this eclipse here, something may shift around your worldview. You may receive new information that changes what you believe, what you want to study, where you want to travel, or how you understand the larger meaning of your life.
For some people, this could bring an opportunity connected to higher education, a degree, a course, a teacher, or an area of study. For others, it could involve international travel, spiritual exploration, religion, philosophy, or astrology.
Because Pisces is involved, this is not only about gathering information. It is about meaning, faith, and spiritual seeking. This eclipse falls in the first decan of Pisces, the decan of the spiritual seeker, so for Scorpio rising especially, it may open a door into deeper study or devotion.
Uranus may bring a sudden insight. Mercury cazimi may bring a moment where something clicks. You may not have the whole map yet, but you may begin to understand the direction your soul is pointing.
Gemini Rising
If you are a Gemini rising, this eclipse falls in your tenth house.
The tenth house has to do with career, profession, reputation, public life, honors, and the actions you take in the world. Karma simply means action — what we do. So this house describes what you are doing out in the world and what you are known for.
With this eclipse here, something may shift in your career or public role. A new opportunity may come in, a role may change, or you may receive information that lights up the career part of your chart. Because Uranus is involved, this could feel sudden or unexpected.
This eclipse may ask you to realign your public life with your deeper purpose. Is the work you are doing connected to your soul? Does your professional path leave room for faith, creativity, intuition, compassion, or service?
The Virgo side may want to measure success through competence, achievement, and doing things correctly. Pisces asks a different question: does this path feel guided? Does it feel meaningful? Does it connect you to something larger than the ego?
Because this is the final eclipse in this Pisces series, you may want to look back over the last couple of years and notice what has been changing in your career or public life. This may be a culminating moment.
Taurus Rising
If you are a Taurus rising, this eclipse falls in your eleventh house.
